So, my bff, James Francis, (I have like 4 bff’s…so what!?) started a blog. Jim’s blog is a hot tranny mess. Check it out
Oh and I am a member of Flickaday. Just one more thing for me to be a part of on the internet. You basically take a pic a day and…I guess there’s no real reason for it besides to see the changes in your face overtime. But whatever, you guys know I’m a sucker for things like that. So,you can find my pics in the side bar to the right! —————–>
and now i’m off to shower, put some clothes/makeup on and go out with Lindsey! whee!
Woah! Haven’t blogged in awhile. I’m alive! And no, haven’t been that busy, but a lot of things have been going on this week. Emily left for the states on Wednesday morning. We got to hang out the night before she left and even though I miss her, I’m happy for her. It’s what she wants and I’m sure she’s a lot happier there! Especially when she’s sitting by the pool in 70 degree weather *jealous*. My new roommate arrived! She’s a really nice girl from South Africa. I haven’t hung out much with her because we both have opposite schedules, but from what I can tell so far, she’s a nice girl. So, hmm…what have I been doing since I’ve been “too busy” to blog. Not much! Watching movies! I watched Atonement-didn’t really like it except for that HOT bookshelf sex scene. *dies* Omg james mcavoy, grow 5 inches taller (he’s `5’7 and i’m 5’9!) and push me up against a bookshelf like that! Now, pls!!!
Ok. Calm down, Sophia.
I’ve also been watching episodes of How I met your mother-I laugh so much during this show! And of course, I’ve been playing warcraft-I got a mace I’ve been wanting to drop for weeks! And today on my first WoTLK raid, I got some new shoulders and a new belt! score for epics!
I’m going to celebrate carnival this weekend. When people hear the word carnival there first thoughts are BRAZIL! It’s also celebrated here in the Netherlands. Mostly in the southern regions. Tomorrow i’m going down south to celebrate with the Dutchies.Haven’t decided if i’m dressing up or not. but i have decided that I am drinking…a lot ^_^
OK, if you’ve been on the internet this week then you have seen this video. If by some small chance you haven’t, check it out!
and of course a parody! which I thought was HILARIOUS!

Happy day after Valentine’s Day!
And no, I’m not bitter. I even have a Valentine. ^_^ Valentine’s Day just isn’t usually a big deal for me. Even when I’ve been in relationships, I never made a big deal of it. I always require chocolate of some sort, but that’s it. When I was completely involved in Vagina Monolgues during my college years, I also requested the guy I was dating to attend. Mostly, because I was in it. Past Valentine’s Day’s have included pizza and warcraft, chinese buffets, Jude Law movie day, and the like. This one included pizza, ben and jerrys, and beer with Emily, Will, and Tony. Fun times!
What did Y’ALL do?!
oh, and I finished all of my Valentine’s Day quests in WoW(on the second day) and I am now “Ayda the love fool”!
Living in such an expat friendly city is awesome. One thing I both love and hate is the abundance of expats! Don’t get me wrong! I love the Netherlands and the Dutch, but there’s something so familiar and lovely about hanging out with Americans. It feels cozy and homelike and I don’t think I could not have survived my time abroad without that feeling. The crappy thing about the abundance is that expats usually aren’t permanent. :( It feels just as I am getting close and connecting with someone, it’s time to say goodbye. I just said goodbye last month to my friend’s Manon and Devynn who were HUGE parts of my life here. And in a couple of days I will say goodbye to Emily. I haven’t known her as long as the other two, but her leaving the Netherlands will definitely have it’s effect on me. After saying goodbye to our connecting bond, Devynn, we were each other’s buddies. Meeting up for lunches, dinners, bitching about work, surprisingly not much partying, but good times nonetheless. *sigh* I’m going to miss her tons. Tomorrow we’re going to hit up some museums and maybe if she’s feeling up to it, go out tomorrow night.
I wanted to add cute pictures of us at the end of the blog, but we don’t have any! Only pics from drunk Thanksgiving. So, enjoy!

So, if you read my last post you know I was trying to finish up my “elder quests” for achievements for the lunar festival. Well I failed. I kept getting distracted by instances, Heroics, and of course the quests for the Valentine’s Day! Love is in the Air! This is my all time favorite in game holiday and apparently every other girl that plays on my server. The quests were available at 6 am and even at that ungodly hour the main city was crowded! Mostly with female toons (maybe guys playing as girls too, but I definitely spotted a few IRL girls)!

Obbie noticed too. hehe
I’m working on it now. I will definitely finish these quests and become Pinkielarue the love fool! Check out my festival outfit and my lovely black dress from the achievements so far!

I opted for the lunar pant suit instead of the lunar festival dress

and there I am in my lovely black dress from the Valentine’s quest
ok, no more WoW posts for awhile :)
If you don’t play Warcraft don’t click to read more. ^_^

My friend Tony came to visit on Saturday. it was definitely a surprise. I wasn’t too enthused when he called me. I was on codeine, on the couch in pajamas, and completely enthralled in my trashy novel Au Pairs which was passed down from Emily to Kate and now to me. He called and said “oh hey! Open your door, I’m outside”
what??! I don’t do surprise visits so instead of an “OMG yay!” since I haven’t seen him in months, it was more of a ” whaat? why? Why are you here?!” I eventually let him up to my apartment and he explained that he was just coming over because he knew I was under the weather from my root canal. Unlike other people that like being visited when they’re sick/not there normal self, I hate it. I just want to be alone in pajamas and under covers. Anywho, he presented me with Campbell’s soups, Jello, and Pudding! Yay American food. So, I couldn’t be THAT annoyed and we ended up having a pleasant weekend.
He left yesterday after a delicious lunch with me and Emily at Burger King. I can’t explain my love for Burger King. In the states, I wasn’t a big fan of it and rarely went. But something about Burger King here does it for me and I crave it all the time. This was my first lunch at the BK in a while so it definitely hit the spot. mmmmm! twister fries ^_^ Oh, hahaha! Typical Sophia moment happened yesterday at BK. We were in line and Tony had just pointed out a guy in front of us dropping his cup on his tray. I laughed of course and of course as soon as I got my tray with food/drink on it, I dropped my twister fries all over the floor. I laughed but I was a little embarrassed. >.< Luckily, the lady behind the counter gave me new fries!
We left BK and as everyone was getting on their trams I thought, “hmm, I should probably get my bike!” It’s been stranded on a street near there since last week when I thought it was absolutely too cold to bike home and just left it there. Yesterday, was nice(r) for once. The sun was shining and it was cold, but not as cold as it has been. I debated back and forth taking the tram. At the last minute I decided, with the help of Emily (“sophia…it is definitely too cold”), to take the tram home. Thank goodness I did! Because as soon as I sat my butt down on the tram and looked out of the window I saw slush falling from the sky. Phew…close call.
Today, I am working on fixing up my screwed up sleep schedule. I’ve been going to bed around 4am-6am and waking up for work at 8 am, but then napping during the day from 11am to 2pm. No nap today! I’m hoping…we shall see. I haven’t had any caffeine yet!
Once again I’ve changed my layout. I change it pretty frequently because I can never find one that captures me or my style! But I think I’ve found it in this layout called “Juicy Roo” designed by Kelly Roo. (Thanks Kelly! I looooove it!)
What a freaking emotional week! This week has been full of random happenings. It was fine until Tuesday. *shudders* Tuesdays are my Mondays. Everyone hates going to work on Monday. Not me. I dread Tuesdays. Tuesdays are my long day as I work from 8 am until around 6 pm. Normal for some, hell for a nanny! So, basically, I go in to work and everything is fine. Around midday I decide to go to my house, kid in tow, to pick up the mail. Oh, and what do you know! I had a letter from my dentist with a bill that I had to pay by that coming Friday for part 2 of my root canal(omg…why do I have to go twice anyway? ) I opened it and literally, freaked out. It was far too expensive and I just spent most of my money on part 1 of the treatment! I took some deep breaths and tried to work out how I was going to pay the bill in my head, but I couldn’t because the kids were being EXTRA bratty. Or maybe my patience was very thin at this point. I called my mom and cried/broke down with her on the phone. Unfortunately, she didn’t do much comforting. And you know what I found out today?! That she and my sister have been making fun of the breakdown and quoting it to each other. “Mommy! I’m having a crappy day and I just need a freaking glass of wine, and I can’t have one because I’m on anitbiotics. *cries*” I don’t think it’s amusing AT ALL! Anywho, the day never got better. I ended up working late because the parents had some dinner. When they got home I thought I would just go home, relax, and play World of Warcraft all night (yes! I played >.< I couldn't last a week! But I had a good excuse! I was stressed!)-WRONG! I actually had to go home and sleep, because I had to work the next morning. Which is usually my off day-joy :(
So, I worked for a few hours on my off day (grr) and then picked up the Austrian couple who were my guests for a couple of days. I hung out with them a bit and stressed out about my bill A LOT! Though completely stressed, I had a nice time with the couple. We had a nice evening chat about our days and went to bed. On Thursday, I worked and that was fine. I was a little less stressed and more calm and relaxed to work with the kids. After work I talked to my boss about my dental bill and they agreed to pay for it! Score! I was so thankful because I really had no idea how I would pay it and I HAD to have it done. I celebrated that and being off my antibiotics by sharing a bottle and a half of wine with Kate and a yummy dinner that the couple cooked for us. Oh and I started watching Arrested Development. I must be the last person on earth to watch this show. So far, so good! I'm only on the third episode >.<
Today, I worked a bit and had part two of my root canal completed. I’ll save you the details, but it was a 2 hour painful process and I only received 2 pain pills! And that was only because I begged the dentist and it was from her own purse! She couldn’t prescribe me any. *sigh* I am so glad the whole root canal adventure is over. Such good news to my ear. Also, had some sad news today. Found out that the family’s diabetic cat (the only cat i’ve ever liked!) died. They found her in the basement this morning and think she died from an insulin overdose. I was the last one to inject her …
:(
But! I’m pretty sure I didn’t kill the cat! I’ve been giving her insulin for months and months and I know how much to give! She was really old and sickly. Perhaps it was old age. Regardless of how she died, R.I.P. Poekje! You will be missed.
That song(and video) is a few years old, but lately I can’t get that song out of my head! And it’s one of my favorites to play and sing along to
